I Just Saved a Ton of Money on My Car Insurance!

As many of you may know, I'm planning to thru-hike from Key West, Florida, to Springer Mountain, Georgia. I expect to start January 1st and end April 16th. I've been trying to get my affairs in order. Sounds like I'm about to die, huh?

I have a medical insurance question

I pay for my insurance (and dd) out of my pocket each month. My deductible is $750 individual/$1500 family. What exactly does that mean? Alyssa had some xrays taken earlier this year and in June she had 2 lumps removed and tested.
